Payment methods listThis page lists the payment methods available on AXEPTA Online and help you to identify those that correspond to your target market.

Understanding

• Region / Country
  • Geographical area in which the payment method can be subscribed by buyers.
  • This allows you to identify the payment methods of the target market (final customers in a given geographical area) in which the merchant want to develop activity.
  • Ex: Identify the usual payment methods used in Europe and available on AXEPTA.
• Geographic area of interest
  • Geographic area in which the payment method is considered standard.
  • If a merchant wants to develop the activity in a specific geographical area, he's adviced to accept the payment method(s) whose main market (buyers) corresponds to his target.
  • Ex: A merchant who targets the French market is advised to accept CB.

Role-playing

Example: The merchant is based in Portugal. He wants to sell products online and targets Belgian customers

• Identify the payment methods that are most commonly used in Belgium, so that the target customers can pay for their purchases with their usual payment methods
• In the table,  "Region of buyers" column lists the payment methods available in Europe and internationally
• Then the "Country of buyers" column allows you to identify the payment methods available in Belgium
• Finally, the column "Unmissable geographic area" indicates the payment methods available in Belgium
• In conclusion:
  • Belgium: Bancontact
  • International : Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay...
